Proud Mum

Mantis shrimps are agressive, solitary creatures and efficient hunters using their claws. With an acceleration of more than 10 g crack the shells of their pray into pieces with just one snap of their claws. But even the most aggressive hunters have to dedicate part of their time to reproductive function, as this specimen of Odontodactylus scyllarus, hidden in a crack in the rock.
